Glasgow Mela + Glasgow Jazz Festival Showcase – Friday 29th May (Evening), The Savings Bank
A spectacular evening featuring:
Bletherin’ – A newly formed trio blending Scottish, Indian classical, and jazz influences, crafting a distinctive sound that weaves together the beauty of their musical traditions.
Mama Terra – a Glasgow-based spiritual jazz band featuring ethereal vocals and deep grooves.
The Glasgow Barons, Àrd-sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu & Ando Glaso Roma Fest – Saturday 31st May (Morning), The Pearce Institute
The Glasgow Barons have produced an exciting collaboration between Musicians in Exile and members of the band DLÙ. This fusion of work music and Scottish sounds creates a powerful and unique musical experience that highlights the rich tapestry of cultures in Glasgow today.
Àrd-sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu (Glasgow Gaelic Secondary School) – Pupils will perform a moving Gaelic rendition of Mother Glasgow alongside traditional Gaelic ceilidh music, inviting the audience to dancea and celebrate Glasgow’s Gaelic musical heritage!
Ando Glaso Roma Fest – A vibrant showcase of musicians from Romanian, Polish, Slovak, Czech, and Hungarian Roma backgrounds, celebrating the often overlooked cultural heritage of Scotland’s Roma population.
Celtic Connections Night – Saturday 31st May (Evening), The Savings Bank
